Nicholas Caldwell, 1944-2016 (age 71), born in Loma Linda CA, passed away quietly at his California Bay Area home on Monday, 5 January 2016. Mr. Caldwell was one of the founding members of the 20th Century’s most trailblazing Rhythm and Blues stand-up male vocal groups, The Whispers. In 2015 they would celebrate 50 years in the Music Industry. Mr. Caldwell was an award winning songwriter and producer, credited with the group’s most widely acclaimed ballads, “Lady”, “Say Yes”, and “Are You Going My Way”. Nicholas served as President of Whisper Music Incorporated and Chairman of Black Tie Entertainment (Capital Records Custom Label). His talents also encompassed the group’s choreography and costume design. Nicholas is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Alberta Caldwell, 5 Children and 12 Grandchildren, 1 Brother, a host a nieces, nephews and his group friends/brothers-Wallace “Scott” Scott, Walter Scott, Leaveil Degree, Whisper Band, Road Crew, and a world-wide allegiance of Fans.
